ARY network’s transmission blocked
On saturady Sep.16,2006, the police tortured two reporters and a cameraman of two private TV channels and subjected them to humiliation, without any provocation, at the main gate of Minar-e-Pakistan while they were covering a religious convention. The incident led to blocking of ARY Network’s transmission after the channel continued to highlight the report despite timely and prompt action by the Punjab government against the policemen.The transmission went off the air at 10 pm on Sunday night in Lahore and other districts of the province.
Police after manhandling the journalists, took them to the police station instead of the hospital where they were detained for two hours and then released upon the intervention of top police officials.
Those who were beaten up by the police included senior journalist Hafiz Wadood Mushtaq, Nazir Awan and cameraman Zahid Azeem.
According to the details, the team arrived at the main gate of the Minar-e-Pakistan to cover the convention organised by a religious party. The media men sought the permission of the police staff for taking their vehicle inside the venue but the police refused and asked them to take their vehicle back. As they were reversing their vehicle, Deputy Superintendent Police Mukhtar Shah and SHO Lohari Gate Younis reached the spot. They got furious at the presence of the journalists there. The DSP asked the police force as to what these persons were doing there and ordered his staff to beat them up. As the policemen were thrashing Nazir Awan and cameraman Zahid Azeem, Wadood Mushtaq intervened and questioned the police about their action. Upon this the police officers, upon the instruction of the DSP, also picked up Mushtaq and gave him a severe beating.

This dsp mukhtar shah is the most corrupt police officer in the punjab police.
he should be dismissed from the force. it would be a favor to the people of punjab.

For your inmormation this dsp mukhtar shah is not a proper shia. By birth he is a marasi and converted after he joined the punjab police on 12 may 1976. What ever he does the shia community is not to blame because once a marasi always a marasi.
so hamid does that mean he became your brother in law (behnoi) on 12 may 1976, then he started calling himself shia and shah, is that the reason you know exact reason of his conversion date…
unqareeb harami or rashi police k kutay awam k hathon qatal hon gay. in kutton ki aulad bhi haram ki hoti hai. dsp mukhtar shah un may say ek hai.
jo in laogon ki favor karta hai woh kudh harami hai.
